Relative Expression (log2-ratio):-5.41414
Number of Samples:3 / 3
Experimental wound healing study 2 (ex vivo; DMSO)
Ex vivo skin samples obtained from healthy donors following reduction surgery of abdomen, and incubated in culture medium containing DMSO for 4 days. To make sure that mainly epidermis was present in the samples, as much dermal tissue as possible was removed by dissection. Skin was sliced into 1x10 mm slices and incubated in keratinocyte medium for four days with 1:1000 fold dilution of DMSO. The cultivation was performed in serum-free keratinocyte medium supplemented with transferrin, hEGF (0.15 ng/mL), 0.5 mg/mL hydrocortisone, gentamicin, amphotericin B, and epinephrine but without insulin.
Control normal skin tissue (ex vivo)
Normal skin samples obtained from healthy donors following reduction surgery of abdomen. To make sure that mainly epidermis was present in the samples, as much dermal tissue as possible was removed by dissection.

Li-Fraumeni syndrome study 1 / normal breast epithelial cell sample

Relative Expression (log2-ratio):4.922493
Number of Samples:7 / 4
Experimental Li-Fraumeni syndrome study 1
Morphologically normal breast epithelial cells were isolated from non-involved tissue of Li-Fraumeni syndrome patients with breast cancer. Li-Fraumeni syndrome is cancer predisposing syndrome caused by germline mutation of the p53. Patient (50): 31-years old female with breast cancer and p53 mutation at codon 133 in exon 5, in one of the two alleles (Met133Thr). The donor had also family history of breast cancer and p53 mutations through at least last three generations. Patient (IUSM): 29-years old Caucasian female with non-invasive ductal carcinoma and bilateral Paget disease of the nipples; with heterozygous p53 12141delG germline frameshift mutation. The donor had also a maternal aunt with bilateral breast cancer in her 30's and a male sibling with osteogenic sarcoma of a leg at age 13, who later died of a brain tumor at age 19.
Control normal breast epithelial cell sample
Normal breast epithelial cells were isolated from donor with no history of cancer and wild-type p53.

Relative Expression (log2-ratio):-4.796284
Number of Samples:3 / 11
Experimental HCC study 20 (CDX; Hep-G2; ectopic)
Tumor tissue biopsy samples from Hep-G2 cell line-derived xenograft (CDX) ectopically generated in SCID mice by injecting hepatocellular carcinoma cells subcutaneously. In order to establish ectopic models, cells were injected subcutaneously into the flank regions. The mice were euthanized after two weeks.
Control HCC study 20 (PDX; ectopic)
Tumor tissue biopsy samples from patient-derived xenograft (PDX) sample ectopically generated in SCID mice by injecting hepatocellular carcinoma cells subcutaneously. Donor tumor tissue was obtained intraoperatively during liver resection from three patients. All three patients had hepatocellular carcinoma confirmed by histology. In order to establish ectopic models, cells were injected subcutaneously into the flank regions. The mice were euthanized after two weeks.
